Flower Cards – The Iris, Poppy, and Peony

These could be Mother’s Day or just a birthday card for someone special.  I have been going through a lot of stress lately and coloring always seems to calm me down, so these cards were made from that calming time that I most greatly needed.

The Iris and the Poppies.  I love both of these flowers because they were always around my home when I was growing up.

This next card took a lot longer to make and I can’t quite get the inside to view very well, but believe me it turned out beautifully.  I am calling it the peony box card.  Someone that receives this card will feel extra special.

I used copic markers and colored pencils on all the cards and I added some wink a stella to add some shimmer.  As you can see the back part of this card is where you can add your own private message.

35th Anniversary card and Graduation card

I had two special events during this month and of course I just had to make cards for both of them.  My first one was to my husband.  We have been married for 35 years now and I wanted to show him some of the pictures during our life together.  I used a picture from when I first met him to our present day and made the card into a pop and twist panel card.

I then had the pleasure to be at my niece’s graduation from both ROTC and Nursing.   Not only was she on the dean’s list but she carried a 3.9 GPA as well. This girl will be one heck of a nurse, she is so dedicated. I wish her lots of luck on her new adventure into Nursing.

    Framed bunnies and Easter cross

Although this card took awhile to create I loved how it turned out.  I used the Martha Stewart punch for the foliage and colored each of the bunnies with Momento ink.  I added an Easter basket on the inside of the card and called it finished.

My next card I used a Stampin Up stamp set called, “Easter message.”  I stamped the words on vellum and then stamped the cross on watercolor paper and colored in the cross.  Stamped a simple message of Happy Easter on the inside.
